edit and send via 3G AutoCAD drawings from site to your office;
it’s even got a mega-pixel camera and a 640 x 480 VGA screen
that you can turn through 180 degrees. Try out this and other Orange
devices at the Education RoadShow.
PD38 Laser Distance Meter from Hilti - Linked via BlueTooth to
the PDA phone will triangulate room dimensions to within 1.5mm of
accuracy , constructing instantly in AutoCAD format the finished
drawing on your PDA phone. Point - Draw - Transmit for yourself
at the Education RoadShow with the Hilti PD38 Laser Device
In a recent ‘education day’ held at a midlands based
city council, we were able to demonstrate how ‘Mobile CAD and
Fixed Data Collection’ could be used in best practice by their
property health team to dramatically reduce surveying and data collection
costs. Within one month of the ‘education day’ we mobilised
the councils surveying team - the immediate impact of this mobilisation
was that one person can now measure, draw and email completed, accurate
DWG format drawings back to the office through the Orange ‘GPRS
/ 3G’ network - in one third of the time previously taken -
a £100,000 / month saving based on 10 surveyors.
